Join us on a unique three-day adventure through the most magical parts of Åland - swim between islets and islands, hike on beautiful trails and stay in scenic places. A memory for life for those who love nature, movement and experiences!

Date: Thursday 6/8 - Sunday 9/8

Start and end in Mariehamn, Åland
Departure from Grisslehamn with M/S Eckerö Thursday
Departure 15.00 or 20.00 ( There is a connecting bus to the ferry from Stockholm city )
Arrival with M/S Eckerö Thursday at 18:00 or 23:00 to Eckerö Berghamn
Return Sunday at 18:30 from Eckerö Berghamn arrival Grisslehamn 19.30 ( connecting bus to Stockholm city )

DAY BY DAY

Thursday:

Arrival in Eckerö late in the evening or afternoon.

Accommodation: Gröna Uddens Camping part in 2-bed cabin
Gröna Uddens Camping is located close to the sea and just a stone's throw from the center of Mariehamn and is the start of this year's SwimHike adventure.

Friday:

Breakfast: At Gröna Uddens Camping

Hike:

approx 5 km : Gröna Udden → Rödgrund

Swim:

approx. 3 000 m: Rödgrund → Senskär → Lemböte

Stop & Lunch:

Senskär -Nature reserve with rich plant and animal life. Break on the first swim

Lemböte Lägergård: Lunch and change of clothes before the hike at Lemböte lägergård, which is scenically located on the beach to Bolsvik in Knutsboda

Hike:

approx. 10 km : Lemböte → Amalia Café & Logi
Via Lemlandsleden, view from Kasberget

Evening:

Accommodation, dinner & sauna at Amalia - A genuine farm with beef cows and horses peaceful rural atmosphere, Welcome to Amalia! 11 cozy rooms, simply decorated in country style with views of fields and grazing cows. A peaceful stay after the day's exertions. Dinner, sauna and overnight stay Friday to Saturday. Breakfast Saturday morning before the day's adventure.

Saturday

Breakfast: At Amalia

Hiking:

approx. 6 km : Amalia → Svinö ferry port

Ferry to Föglö Degerby

Lunch: Lunch in Degerby before the hike to Bråttö

Hike:

2 km: Degerby → Degerby beach

7 km: Gisselö → Bråttö

Swimming:

approx. 3 500 m: Bråttö → Storklobb

Evening:

Dinner, sauna & overnight stay at Storklobb's former sea guard station

Sunday: Breakfast

Breakfast: Storklobben

Swimming:

1,700 m: Storklobb → Sältingskär
Swimming excursion to Sältingskär.
In the old fishing village of Sältingskär in the Föglö archipelago, about 24 km south of Mariehamn, you can experience how the archipelago inhabitants spent the night when it was time for fishing. The oldest cottages were built in the latter half of the 19th century. They were still widely used at the beginning of the 20th century, but after boats were increasingly equipped with engines in the 1920s, the importance of overnight cabins in the outer archipelago declined.

The old fishing huts were also frequently used in spring during the seabird hunting season.

Boat taxi:

Sältingskär → Rödhamn Marina

Lunch:
Lunch at the idyllic Rödhamn on your way back to Mariehamn. Here you will find hospitality, good food, drinks and homemade buns - all in a fantastic archipelago environment.
